January - Martin Luther King Day of Celebration

Learn about Clear into the Future® and enjoy games and information about the Delaware River Estuary during the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. day of celebration on Monday, January 17, 2011. Join an expected 4,000 visitors for the celebration,
held from 12:00pm to 5pm at the Chase Center in Wilmington.

Visit the DuPont Environmental Education Center!
The DuPont Environmental Education Center gives visitors the opportunity to learn about the many species of amphibians, birds, mammals, fish, reptiles and native plants that call the local tidal area home.
But did you know that DEEC has scheduled activities available as well? The center offers Weekend Family Programs ranging from Naturalist Walks, Science Experiments, Story time and more. Or, for adults enjoy Lunch with a Naturalist on the last Tuesday of each month.

Happy 4th Birthday to the DuPont Nature Center at Mispillion Harbor Reserve!
Now is a great time to visit the DuPont Nature Center! In May, you can spot the red knot bird, which flies up from South America to feast on horseshoe crab eggs along the Delaware shores before flying to the Arctic for the summer.
The DuPont Nature Center offers one of the best viewing areas for spawning horseshoe crabs and migratory shorebirds during the peak season. Inside, learn about the area through educational exhibits and children's activities. The center is located off Route 1 near Milford, Delaware.

June – 4th annual "Wild Skies of Wilmington" Falcon Viewing Event

Join the Delmarva Ornithological Society and Clear into the Future® for our popular annual Falcon Viewing event! Children and adults watch for a peak of the peregrine falcons that nest atop the Brandywine Building as they fly over the Wilmington skies. The Delmarva Ornithological Society's Bill Stewart speaks about the falcons' activities. Viewing telescopes and refreshments are provided.

Going to the Delaware Beaches for the July 4th holiday - or any time this summer? Take a break to visit the DuPont Nature Center, conveniently located off Route 1 near Mildford!

thousands of people each year to the wonders of the sea and the importance of Delaware's marine

Happy Birthday to the DuPont Environmental Education Center (DEEC) at the Peterson Wildlife Refuge near Wilmington, DE! Since its opening last year, the Center has hosted thousands of visitors. The Center is located on the edge of the 212-acre Russell W. Peterson Urban Wildlife Refuge that adjoins the tidal Christina River, which is home to many species of amphibians, birds, mammals, fish, reptiles and native plants.
